Taste of Marietta 2015

Once again we had a great time at the Taste of Marietta.  So many things to try! We started by walking the square to see who was there and what was offered.

There was a cooling station for kids and pets.

And lots of dogs that just had enough of the crowds.

There was an old police car that every one enjoyed seeing.
And of course, this is probably the only place you could have gotten deep fried bubble gum today.

Taste of Marietta is the place where you can go to taste the best that the area restaurants have to offer.

First we tried Angels Burritos. A chicken burrito that was okay. A chili dog that was okay. The  bowl of chicken and dumplings.... It was okay.

There was a tent for Crooked Tree Cafe,  Atlanta Fudge, Grand Champion BBQ, Sugarcakes Patisserie, Minas Grill, Fox Dogs, Vespucci's Italian Kitchen, Cool Hawaiian Shaved Ice, Kish Lounge, Chicken and the Egg and more.

Then there was SEED.  They served the most amazing White Corn Grit Fritters with a deep amber Jalapeño Jelly that was just the perfect complement! Served hot and cheesy. YUM

SEED KITCHEN & BAR is located at 1311 Johnson Ferry Road, Suite 504, Marietta, Georgia
I've been there several times for lunch but never dinner.  I'll have to do that very soon.
Top Chef Doug Turbush will open his third restaurant in December 2015 called Drift.  A fish house and oyster bar in the Avenues at East Cobb. I can't wait.

The 2015 Awards of Distinction went to 540 Kitchen & Bar, Sugar Cakes, The Marietta Local, Tiny Bubbles Tea Bar, Big Shanty Smokehouse, Hottie Hawgs Barbeque, Taqueria Tsunami, Dave Poe’s BBQ and Seed Kitchen & Bar.
Another great day on the Marietta Square in Marietta, GA. A great place to live.

Vine-ripe tomatoes from Tennessee and South Carolina

Locally made sauces and relishes, baked goods, pickles, dairy goods such as Amish butter, cheese and syrups.

They will make specialty baskets for any occasion that are so different from all the rest.
